SEGA has announced that Sonic Mania is coming to Nintendo Switch.
The game already was rumored to make an appearance, and SEGA puts its number one guy on as many platforms as possible these days with Nintendo actually seeming like its priority partnership.

The official Sonic the Hedgehog Twitter account confirmed the news, saying, "It's true: Sonic Mania is headed to the Nintendo Switch!"
Sonic Mania is effectively a love letter to the classic 2D Sonic the Hedgehoggames of old. Featuring levels from the original games remixed with new mechanics and incredibly fluid animation, it’s very clear that this is a “passion project” as Sega calls it.
Some history XD :
SEGA and Nintendo enjoyed a North American rivalry that lasted roughly five or six years during the reign of the NES, Super Nintendo and SEGA Genesis. Of course, this was before Sony entered the picture in 1995, and video games became a three-way race.
Likewise, it’s now been 16 years since the first Sonic game appeared on a Nintendo platform, meaning the rivalry has been out of existence much longer than it was in existence. Several generations of gamers have already come of age who will never know of the great feud from back then, and yet, I remember it like it was yesterday. Even though, SEGA's never really left the gaming scene, it feels like it's been 20 years since we got a truly notable Sonic game. That time period hasn't been devoid of good Sonic games, but there hasn't been a Sonic title that's come close to matching the brilliance of the blue hedgehog's first few outings.
While Sega has had a rough ride as of late with its fanbase, especially on the Sonic side of things, Sonic Mania looks to be exactly the kind of game that the fans want.
Sonic Mania Trailer :
In addition to having pixel-style art, the game features brand-new levels, as well as reimagined areas from Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic CD, and Sonic the
Hedgehog 3 and Knuckles.
Plus, New and improved features: familiar Zones with new looks, new bosses, new gameplay mechanics to explore.
According to Nintendo's official page for the game on its website, Sonic Mania will release for Nintendo Switch this spring.
